Your assignment:
This week for our art challenge, we are going to pick artwork from our homes to arrange in an exhibition. It can be art that you have made, or an art piece you have hanging up in your home. Look through what you have chosen and see if you can find any similarities between the pieces (do they all have animals? Do they all feature the color black? It can be anything). This will be your theme. Pick an order for the images to be displayed. If they were hanging in a gallery, which piece would be shown first? Last? Once you have your pieces picked out and arranged, draw a layout of your exhibition, marking where a visitor would enter and exit, and where the art would be displayed. Talk to someone in your home about these questions, or share your answers with me. For an extra challenge, make a piece of art to add to your exhibition! Please email me your exhibition design or upload it to the Google Doc below.

Your assignment:
This week, your art challenge is to create a sculpture out of cardboard. It can be from a cardboard box or a cereal box. Create a bunch of circles or ovals and cut them out of the cardboard. Stack these from largest to smallest; experiment with it leaning to one side or the other. Use your imagination and make your sculpture into whatever you want it to be. Play around with your materials and really explore the possibilities before making your final shape! Once your sculpture is done, observe your sculpture and notice it from all sides. How does your sculpture change when you look at it from a different angle? Please upload a picture of your sculpture to the Google Doc below the video or email me.

Your assignment:
This week, your art challenge is to create your own still-life piece. You may draw or paint a still-life, the choice is yours! Please pick a handful of objects from your home that you use every day and arrange them in the way you want to draw them. For your still-life drawing, I want you to recreate these everyday objects into objects of the future. Take what you have, and transform it so the object works better than it does right now. Draw all these objects together as a still-life, and provide an explanation as to how you improved these objects. Please send me a picture of your still-life piece, either through email or by uploading it to the Google Doc below this video.

Your assignment:
This week your art challenge is to recreate a famous work of art from objects around your house. Pick one of the four pieces provided to recreate. Remember that the most important part of this assignment is to have fun! Do your best to be as accurate as possible with your recreation, but don’t worry if the details are hard to capture. For an extra challenge, research what others have done for recreating famous works of art. Try and find someone else’s interpretation of the work you used. How is it different from or similar to what you created? Please take a picture of your recreation and upload it to the Google Doc posted below or you can email me a picture of your work.

Your assignment:
This week, your art challenge is to make a collage out of materials around your home. You can use newspapers, magazines, construction paper, cardboard, fabric, or anything you can cut into shapes and glue. Make sure to check in with your parent or guardian about what is okay to use for this project! Your goal is to create a meaningful image in your collage, using different kinds of shapes (organic and geometric). Tell someone in your household about your art. Show them where the different shapes are in it. Explain the meaning behind your art and what message you are saying with it. Upload an image of your collage to the Google Doc posted below (with your HPES email) or through an email to Ms. Lemay.
